According to the Establishment Statutes we have the mandate to “work for emergency prevention, preparedness, mitigation and recovery”.

We use an holistic approach, aimed to integrate the comprehensive prevention of natural hazards, manmade emergencies and complex urgencies.

The IEMO Organization covers a number of areas of activity:

COUNTRY ASSISTANCE

Support and Assistance to National Emergency Management Organizations (NEMOs) and National Emergency Management Agencies (NEMAs) as well as to related Governmental Services, including Civil Defence Services on the topics of emergency prevention and management

INSTITUTIONAL NETWORK WITH COLLABORATING ORGANIZATIONS

Network with relevant Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOS), Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Academic/Research Institutions, Civil Society and Private Sector for promoting emergency prevention and management skills and divulgation, as well as safety and security of humanitarian officers in humanitarian operations, according to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 63/139.

EMERGENCY PREVENTION

By the use of IEMO Integrated Emergency Prevention System (IEPS), a multi-factorial matrix with triple statistical analysis, aimed to reduce emergencies and disasters at Country level.

RESEARCH AND CONFERENCES

Organization of Conferences, Lectures and Seminars on Emergency prevention and Management, promoting the first International Conference on Emergency Prevention
